Get the best of both worlds at Hero’s, a live music venue and live sports bar set to make its mark on the burgeoning Boat Quay area in Singapore at the end of July 2014. The sprawling 2,500sq ft. venue, located in a prime spot on Circular Road, will be decorated in a contemporary yet timeless American style, with dark, recycled woods, brick and stone wall fixtures and brass accents lending an Old Western Saloon feel. Memorabilia of the greats from both the music and sports arenas, including The Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger and The King himself, Elvis Presley, football superstar David Beckham and “The Greatest”, boxer Muhammad Ali, will adorn the walls. In keeping with its Western theme, the fully-stocked bar will stock a selection of whiskys even the most discerning connoisseur will appreciate, in addition to draught and bottled beers, as well as delicious cocktails. From the kitchen, which will be open for both lunch and dinner, expect classic American and Tex-Mex favourites like burgers, pizzas, hot dogs, quesadillas and chili fries – perfect, no-frills grub to enjoy while catching some live sport. Open seven days a week, Hero’s will air the biggest games and matches in the sporting calendar – on its several big-screen televisions. As for the music lovers, the bar will feature a local resident band playing rock music from the 60s and beyond on most nights. There will also be plenty of opportunities for aspiring and experienced musos to show off their chops on Open Mic or jam nights, which will be launched in the near future.
